1. A method for obtaining information about a bone condition of a subject using a computer system, the method comprising:

  • obtaining data associated with one or more biomarkers in the subject and data associated with one or more imaging descriptors derived from image data of a bone of the subject, wherein the data associated with the one or more imaging descriptors include information selected from the group consisting of trabecular thickness, trabecular spacing, one or more estimates of a trabecular network, cortical thickness, and any combination thereof;

    deriving quantitative information from the one or more imaging descriptors and relating it to a numerical value;

    obtaining a ratio between (i) the level of one or more biomarkers and (ii) the numerical value relating to the quantitative information derived from the one or more imaging descriptors;

    comparing the ratio with a database of index results; and

    analyzing whether said ratio falls within a range of database of index results that is predetermined to be representative of the bone condition of the subject.
