1. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having stored therein an information processing program executed by a computer of an information processing apparatus which includes a scroll image display region for displaying a scroll target image, the scroll image display region including a first region, the information processing program causing the computer to perform operations comprising:

  • sequentially detecting a pointed position in a second region located in a first direction from the first region, or in a third region located in a second direction opposite the first direction from the first region;

    determining whether the detected pointed position shifts in the second region or the third region in a direction different from the first direction and the second direction; and

    scrolling the scroll target image, (a) in the first direction when the detected pointed position shifts in the second region in a direction different from the first direction and the second direction, and (b) in the second direction when the detected pointed position shifts in the third region in a direction different from the first direction and the second direction,wherein the first region is a region for providing a different instruction than a scroll instruction for scrolling the scroll target image.
