  • a scanning unit configured to scan a beacon signal sent from each of a plurality of access points operating in accordance with a wireless LAN defined by IEEE 802.11 series standard;

    a first determination unit configured to determine whether a printer having a predetermined function exists in a wireless network identified by identification information included in the beacon signal transmitted by one of the plurality of access points;

    a second determination unit configured to determine, if the first determination unit determined that no printer having the predetermined function exists, whether a printer having the predetermined function exists in a wireless network identified by identification information included in the beacon signal transmitted by another one of the plurality of access points;

    a transmission unit configured to transmit a print request to the printer having the predetermined function based on the determination result by the first determination unit or the second determination unit,wherein the plurality of access points include a printer which is operating as an access point, and the transmission unit directly transmits, if the printer having the predetermined function is the printer which is operating as an access point, the print request to the printer which is operating as an access point without going through an external access point.
