1. A method for broadcasting an alert in a plurality of languages over a wireless broadcast network, the method comprising:
- analyzing a first message comprising the alert to determine a language of the first message, wherein the language differs from a default language;
generating a language vector based on the analysis of the first message, the language vector comprising;
a plurality of language indicators, wherein a first language indicator denotes the language of the first message; and
a plurality of location indicators, wherein a first location indicator is associated with the first language indicator, wherein the first location indicator denotes a broadcast channel assigned to the first message;
broadcasting, via the wireless broadcast network, a wireless emergency alert system alert message comprising the alert in the default language and the language vector; and
broadcasting, via the broadcast channel, the first message, wherein the language of the first message is a preferred language associated with a mobile device connected to the wireless broadcast network.

Abstract
An Emergency Alert System (EAS) alert message is distributed in multiple languages. The multiple language EAS alert message can be provided via a single channel and/or multiple channels. The multiple language EAS alert message can be provided with a language vector indicating the languages provided and the location of respective language specific EAS alert messages. A mobile device receiving the multiple language EAS alert message, selects a preferred language specific EAS alert message and renders the EAS alert message in the preferred language.
