- an ejector body having a length and a width, the length being greater than the width, the body having a front conveying side and a rear mounting side;
a lengthwise extending mounting extension protruding from the rear mounting side, the ejector body being symmetrical about a lengthwise center line of the mounting extension in a widthwise direction, and the mounting extension having a mounting extension width less than the width of the ejector body, so that the ejector body can be reversibly mounted in either of two mounting positions rotated 180°
from each other about a rotational axis extending through the front conveying side and the rear mounting side; and
at least one mounting hole defined through the ejector body between the front conveying side and the rear mounting side and extending through the mounting extension.

Abstract
The invention relates to an ejector unit, in particular for a road milling machine, having an ejector that is replaceably mounted on a carrier. In one aspect the ejector is curved in a scoop-like fashion. In another aspect the ejector is reversible upon the carrier to allow the ejector to be reversed after one wear surface is worn, thus presenting a new second wear surface.

from each other about a rotational axis extending through the front conveying side and the rear mounting side;wherein the front conveying side has defined therein a lengthwise extending recess, thereby defining first and second lengthwise extending forward facing conveying surfaces adjacent lengthwise edges of the front conveying side; and wherein each of the forward facing conveying surfaces has at least one depression defined therein, so that debris can pack into the depressions during use to create an abrasion resistant debris layer on the front conveying side.

An ejector unit for a road milling machine, the milling machine including a milling drum rotatable in a feed direction about a rotational axis, the rotational axis defining an axial direction parallel to the axis and a radial direction extending radially from the axis, the ejector unit comprising:

a carrier including a mounting foot shaped to be received on the milling drum, and a support portion extending from the mounting foot, the support portion including a forward facing support surface and a supporting shoulder protruding from the support surface; and an ejector including a forward facing conveying surface and including a rear mounting side engaging the support portion, the ejector being received against the supporting shoulder of the carrier, so that engagement of the ejector with the supporting shoulder supports the ejector against radial motion relative to the carrier; and wherein the carrier and ejector each include at least two bolt holes extending through the support portion of the carrier and the ejector, the bolt holes through the ejector extending through the forward facing conveying surface and the rear mounting side. - View Dependent Claims (22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29)

30. An ejector unit for a road milling machine, comprising:

a carrier configured to be mounted on a milling drum; an ejector replaceably mountable upon the carrier in at least two operating positions; wherein the ejector and the carrier define a mechanical interface therebetween enabling reversible installation of the ejector on the carrier, the mechanical interface including; a radially outwardly facing support surface defined on the carrier; and a rearward extending extension extending from the ejector and received against the support surface of the carrier, so that engagement of the extension with the support surface supports the ejector against radially inward motion relative to the carrier; and at least two bolts connecting the ejector to the carrier and providing the only support of the ejector against radially outward motion relative to the carrier. - View Dependent Claims (31, 32, 33)
