increasing a dimension of an expander to increase a dimension of a puncture occluder, the puncture occluder having prongs projecting towards a front end of the catheter;
advancing the puncture occluder to penetrate tissue surrounding the tissue wall; and
decreasing a dimension of the puncture occluder to close the puncture in the tissue wall.

A device for deploying such a clip is described. A method for deploying such a clip is also described.

15. A method for substantially closing a puncture in a tissue wall, the method comprising:

advancing a catheter until an indication that a puncture occluder is positioned a pre-determined distance from a wall of the body lumen; after advancing the catheter until the indication that the puncture occluder is positioned, increasing a dimension of a puncture occluder expander to increase a dimension of the puncture occluder, while increasing the dimension of the puncture occluder expander, advancing the catheter to cause the puncture occluder to penetrate tissue surrounding the wall of the body lumen; after advancing the catheter, partially decreasing a dimension of the puncture occluder expander; and removing the catheter from the tissue tract to decrease the dimension of the puncture occluder to pull the surrounding tissue together to substantially close the puncture. - View Dependent Claims (16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27)
