A solid fuel which is formed from a mixture of a binder comprising starch derived from sea alga (component A), a form retaining agent comprising natural rubber (component B) and a vegetable oil-containing substance comprising the fruit seed of Ricinus communis or Jatropha curcas, or a pulverized product thereof (component C), wherein the amount of the component A is 1 to 85 parts by weight, the amount of the component B is 1 to 55 parts by weight, and the amount of the component C is 10 to 85 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the mixture, and the mixture is compression molded.
