1. A method of transmitting a high throughput (HT) format data frame in a wireless local area network in which HT stations and legacy stations, coexist, the method comprising:

  • adding a legacy format physical layer header to the HT format data frame, the legacy format physical layer header comprising a RATE field value and a LENGTH field value which determined a time period that legacy stations will not transmit data;

    transmitting the HT format data frame with the legacy format physical layer header using channel bonding; and

    separately broadcasting a control frame, which allows the HT and legacy stations to reset a waiting time for using a medium, through each of a plurality of channels used in the channel bonding,wherein, in the transmitting, the HT format data frame is transmitted at a first bandwidth by bonding two channels, each having a second bandwidth less than the first bandwidth.
