1. A method comprising:
- in response to receiving at a computing device a radio signal transmitted from a peripheral device, transmitting a return radio signal from the computing device and changing a state of an output signal;
identifying time periods for multiple radio signals, including the received radio signal and the return radio signal, to travel between the peripheral device and the computing device; and
determining a direction of movement of the peripheral device based on a change in the frequency of the output signal, wherein the frequency of the output signal is a function of a distance between the peripheral device and the computing device, and wherein an increasing distance between the peripheral device and the computing device corresponds to a decreasing frequency of the output signal.

15. A method comprising:
-
causing a pointing device to transmit a first radio signal from a first antenna of the pointing device; identifying a first time period for the first radio signal to travel between the first antenna in the pointing device and a first antenna associated with a computing device; causing the pointing device to transmit a second radio signal from a second antenna of the pointing device; identifying a second time period for the second radio signal to travel between the second antenna in the pointing device and a second antenna associated with the computing device; and determining a distance and direction of movement of the pointing device based on a change in a frequency of an output signal, wherein the change in frequency indicates the distance and direction of movement of the peripheral device, wherein the output signal is generated based on the first and second time periods, wherein the frequency of the output signal is a function of the distance between the first antenna in the pointing device and the first antenna in the computing device, and wherein an increasing distance between the first antenna in the pointing device and the first antenna in the computing device corresponds to a decreasing frequency of the output signal. - View Dependent Claims (16, 17, 18, 19, 20)
