- receiving control information on downlink from a first cell;
generating an uplink transmission to a second cell based in part on the received control information from the first cell;
receiving a transmission power setting on the downlink from the first cell based on the uplink transmission based on a second cell identifier (ID);
transmitting in uplink using the transmission power to the second cell;
determining a downlink timing based on the received control information from the first cell;
setting an uplink timing for communication with the second cell based on the determined downlink timing; and
receiving timing advance information from the first cell for adjusting the uplink timing, the timing advance information being based on information from the second cell.
