  • injecting the fluid medium from a syringe through a fluid delivery catheter to deliver the fluid medium to the selected site;

    simultaneously employing a mechanical modulating mechanism disposed between the syringe and said delivery catheter, said mechanical modulating mechanism residing outside the patient'"'"'s body and comprising;

    a medium reservoir, the medium reservoir including a chamber for receiving the fluid medium therein and at least one surface within the chamber capable of imparting a force on the fluid medium within the chamber; and

    a manifold having a manifold lumen therethrough, wherein the manifold lumen includes;

    a first medium port fluidly coupled to the syringe,a second medium port fluidly coupled to the chamber of the medium reservoir, anda third medium port fluidly coupled to the delivery catheter,said mechanical modulating mechanism capable of altering a delivery of the fluid medium to the selected site so as to maintain a desired flow rate to the selected site within the patient'"'"'s body for a period of time.
