1. A method for managing a Bluetooth connection and a Wi-Fi connection, wherein the Wi-Fi connection exists between a communication device and a Wi-Fi access point, the method comprising:

  • determining, at the communication device, a plurality of signal quality metrics corresponding to the Bluetooth connection and the Wi-Fi connection;

    determining, at the communication device and using the plurality of signal quality metrics, whether simultaneous communication via the Bluetooth connection and the Wi-Fi connection with acceptable performance levels can be achieved;

    in response to determining that simultaneous-communication with acceptable performance levels can be achieved, altering at least one link parameter among a plurality of link parameters to permit communication via the Bluetooth connection and the Wi-Fi connection at acceptable performance levels, includinginstructing, at the communication device, a user to move away from the Wi-Fi access point; and

    in response to determining that simultaneous transmission with acceptable performance levels cannot be achieved, implementing exclusive transmission to allow coexistence between the Bluetooth connection and the Wi-Fi connection including causing the Wi-Fi access point to refrain from transmitting during a transmission via the Bluetooth connection.
