1. A control system comprising:
- a base comprising a central axis;
a knob rotatably connected to the base, the knob rotatable about the central axis;
a plurality of individually indexed light emitting elements distributed along the base perimeter and arranged to direct light radially outward of the central axis;
a diffuser arranged radially outward of the light emitting elements;
a wireless communication module enclosed between the knob and base;
a processor enclosed between the knob and base, the processor connected to the wireless communication mechanism and plurality of light emitting elements, the processor configured to individually control each light emitting element based on a control signal received from the wireless communication mechanism; and
a camera connected to the processor, wherein the processor is configured to control the light emitting elements based on input from the camera.

A method of control system operation, the control system including a base, a knob rotatably mounted to the base, a plurality of light emitting elements angularly distributed proximal a perimeter of the base, and a processor controlling the light emitting elements, the method comprising, at the processor:

determining an orientation of the control system relative to a force vector; setting a light emitting element substantially aligned along the force vector as a reference light emitting element; controlling the reference light emitting element to emit light having a set of reference light parameter values; controlling a second light emitting element, arranged angularly adjacent the reference light emitting element in a first angular direction on the base, to emit light having a set of secondary light parameter values different from the reference light parameter values; receiving a rotary user input along a second angular direction opposing the first angular direction; controlling the reference light emitting element to emit light having the secondary light parameter values in response to rotary user input receipt; and sending control instructions to emit light having the secondary light parameter values to a lighting system. - View Dependent Claims (13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18)
