1. A method of infusing a dye into a composite material, the method comprising:
- a) applying the dye to a transfer media to create a colored transfer media;
b) placing the colored transfer media in contact with the composite material; and
c) applying at least one of heat, external pressure, and vacuum pressure to infuse the dye into the composite material to create a colored composite material;
wherein the composite material comprises one or more layers of unidirectional fiber and polymer matrix plies oriented in one or more directions.
