1. A medical treatment device having an adjustable treatment diameter, comprising:

  • a catheter having an elongate flexible shaft with a proximal end and a distal end;

    a first electrically resistive heating element disposed at and connected to the distal end of the elongate flexible shaft, a heated portion of the first electrically resistive heating element having a first outer diameter measured orthogonal to a longitudinal axis of the elongate flexible shaft;

    first electrical contacts on the elongate flexible shaft; and

    a second electrically resistive heating element, a heated portion of the second electrically resistive heating element having a second outer diameter measured orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the elongate flexible shaft, the second outer diameter being larger than the first diameter, and being removeably connectable to the elongate flexible shaft to at least partially surround the heated portion of the first electrically resistive heating element, the second electrically resistive heating element having second electrical contacts removeably connectable to the first electrical contacts.
