First Claim
1. An implantable gastric device, comprising:
- a shaft having a distal end and a proximal end;
a balloon coupled to the shaft;
a flanged tip disposed at one of the distal end or the proximal end of the shaft and positioned at an outer surface of the balloon, the flanged tip comprising a body connected to the shaft and a head attached to the body and spaced apart from the shaft, wherein—
the head includes a plurality of flanges extending radially outward from the body,the flanges define a plurality of interruptions around at least a portion of a perimeter of the head, andthe flanges form an interrupted and atraumatic surface facing away from the balloon at an end of the flanged tip.
