1. A suction device, comprising:
- an outer tube having an inlet at a first outer end, an opening at a proximal end of the outer tube to receive an inner suction tube, and a wall with an inner surface and an outer surface;
an inner suction tube to be located within the outer tube, the inner suction tube having an inlet at a first inner end corresponding to the first outer end of the outer tube, an outlet at a proximal end of the inner suction tube, and a wall with an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner suction tube having a smaller diameter than the outer tube, wherein the wall of the inner suction tube includes no openings other than the inlet at the first inner end and the outlet;
wherein the inlet of the inner suction tube, when the device is fully assembled, is offset by a distance from the inlet of the outer tube such that the inlet of the inner suction tube is recessed within the outer tube;
wherein the outer surface of the wall of the inner suction tube is spaced from the inner surface of the wall of the outer tube;
wherein when a suction pressure is applied to the outlet at the proximal end of the inner suction tube and the first outer end of the outer tube contacts a fluid, a first vacuum is formed in a space directly between a proximal portion of the outer surface of the wall of the inner suction tube and a proximal portion of the inner surface of the wall of the outer tube, and a second vacuum is formed within the inner suction tube;
wherein the wall of the outer tube includes no openings other than the inlet at the first outer end and the opening at the proximal end of the outer tube to receive the inner suction tube.

15. A suction system, comprising:

an outer tube having a first inlet at a first end and an opening at a second end to receive an inner suction tube; and an inner suction tube to be located within the outer tube, the inner suction tube having a second inlet at a first end corresponding to the first end of the outer tube and an outlet at an end opposite the second inlet, the outlet to connect to a suction base unit, the inner suction tube having a smaller diameter than the outer tube, wherein the wall of the inner suction tube includes no openings other than the second inlet and the outlet; wherein the second inlet of the inner suction tube is offset by a distance from the first inlet of the outer suction tube, such that the second inlet of the inner suction tube is located within the outer suction tube; wherein upon a negative pressure being applied to the inner suction tube and the first inlet contacting a fluid, a first vacuum is formed in a first space directly between a proximal half of the inner suction tube and a proximal half of the outer tube, and a second vacuum is formed in a second space within the inner suction tube;
wherein a proximal half of a wall of the outer tube includes no opening configured to directly intake the fluid from outside the outer tube to inside the outer tube. - View Dependent Claims (16)

17. A suction device, comprising:

an outer tube having a first inlet at a distal end of the outer tube and an opening at a proximal end of the outer tube; and an inner suction tube having a second inlet at a distal end of the inner suction tube and a port at a proximal end of the inner suction tube to couple to at least one suction base unit to apply suction to the inner suction tube, the inner suction tube having a smaller diameter than the outer tube, wherein the wall of the inner suction tube includes no openings other than the second inlet and the port; wherein (a) the inner suction tube is slidably receivable within the opening;
(b) the inner suction tube is configured so the second inlet slides through the opening and towards the first inlet until the second inlet reaches a maximum deployment stage and cannot be slid any further towards the first inlet; and
(c) upon reaching the maximum deployment stage the second inlet is located within the outer tube, is offset proximally from the first inlet, and is configured to form a first vacuum in a first space directly between a proximal portion of a wall of the inner suction tube and a proximal portion of a wall of the outer tube and a second vacuum in a second space within the inner suction tube when the first inlet is completely covered by a fluid;wherein a proximal half of the outer tube includes no additional opening other than the opening at the proximal end. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20)

an outer tube having an inlet at a first outer end, an opening at a proximal end of the outer tube to receive an inner suction tube, and a wall with an inner surface and an outer surface; an inner suction tube to be located within the outer tube, the inner suction tube having an inlet at a first inner end corresponding to the first outer end of the outer tube, an outlet at a proximal end of the inner suction tube, and a wall with an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner suction tube having a smaller diameter than the outer tube, wherein at least one or more holes through the wall of the inner suction tube are located only near the inlet at the first inner end and nowhere else along the wall of the inner suction tube; wherein the inlet of the inner suction tube is, when the device is fully assembled, is offset by a distance from the inlet of the outer tube such that the inlet of the inner suction tube is recessed within the outer tube; wherein the outer surface of the wall of the inner suction tube is spaced from the inner surface of the wall of the outer tube; wherein when a suction pressure is applied to the outlet at the proximal end of the inner suction tube and the first outer end of the outer tube contacts a fluid, a first vacuum is formed in a space directly between a proximal portion of the outer surface of the wall of the inner suction tube and a proximal portion of the inner surface of the wall of the outer tube, and a second vacuum is formed within the inner suction tube. - View Dependent Claims (22)
