1. A method of charging a battery, the method comprising:
- determining a capacity of the battery during a charging session for charging the battery;
determining a state of charge of the battery during charging session;
determining, based on the capacity and the state of charge, a charging current for charging the batter during a top-off session that occurs prior to the end of the charging session and that comprises less than all of the charging session, wherein determining the charging current comprises reducing, prior to the end of the charging session, the charging current to one or more non-zero current levels in response to the state of charge of the battery changing with respect to the capacity of the batter; and
charging the battery with the determined charging current during the top-off session.
