Abstract

A delivery device can include a number of different features including, one or more of, but not limited to, the following. Shuttle and trigger retraction of an outer sheath. Arcuate movement of a trigger. An interlock device to prevent actuation of the trigger. An interlock device that can adjust the position of the outer sheath and the inner shaft. A retraction override switch and lock.

Claims

1. A delivery device comprising:

an inner shaft having one or more delivery platforms for deployment of one or more intraluminal devices;

an outer sheath surrounding the inner shaft and configured to cover the one or more delivery platforms pre-deployment and to be withdrawn from at least one of the one or more delivery platforms as part of a deployment of the one or more intraluminal devices;

an outer sheath rack comprising a plurality of teeth, the outer sheath rack coupled to the outer sheath;

a handle housing, wherein the inner shaft and the outer sheath rack are at least partially positioned within the handle housing, the handle housing comprising at least one pawl configured to engage with the plurality of teeth on the outer sheath rack to prevent re-sheathing of the outer sheath over the one or more delivery platforms after a deployment;

a shuttle having a pair of deflection arms configured for selective engagement with the plurality of teeth on the outer sheath rack, the pair of deflection arms comprising a first deflection arm and a second deflection arm, the first and second deflection arms extending towards each other with at least one tooth positioned between an end of the first deflection arm and an end of the second deflection when the arms are in engagement with the plurality of teeth, the first and second deflection arms being deflectable away from the plurality of teeth;

a trigger mechanically linked to the shuttle such that actuation of the trigger causes linear movement of the shuttle along the length of the inner shaft which withdraws the outer sheath from covering the one or more delivery platforms.

2. The delivery device of claim 1, further comprising a return spring configured to cause the shuttle to return to a starting position following actuation of the trigger while the outer sheath remains in a withdrawn position.

3. The delivery device of claim 1, further comprising a ramp interface between the trigger and shuttle, the ramp interface having one or more ramps or angled surfaces configured to cause the shuttle to advance as the trigger moves in an arcuate path into the handle housing.

The delivery device of claim 1, further comprising a protrusion coupled to the handle housing, the protrusion being positioned to contact at least one of the deflection arms when the shuttle moves along the length of the inner shaft, wherein upon contacting the protrusion the at least one of the deflection arms advances distally from the inner shaft.

5. The delivery device of claim 1, wherein the plurality of teeth comprise a first plurality on a top of the outer sheath rack and a second plurality on a bottom of the outer sheath rack.

The delivery device of claim 1, wherein the trigger is configured such that actuation of the trigger from a starting position to an end position withdraws the outer sheath from covering one of the one or more delivery platforms thereby releasing one of the one or more intraluminal devices from the inner shaft.

7. The delivery device of claim 6, further comprising a counter and a shuttle pawl, wherein the shuttle pawl is configured to engage the counter to change an indication of a number of intraluminal devices available for deployment.

8. The delivery device of claim 1, wherein the handle housing further comprises an arcuate channel and the trigger is positioned within the arcuate channel to move in an arcuate path.

9. The delivery device of claim 1, further comprising a safety button, wherein the safety button locks the trigger in place such that actuation of the safety button is required to allow actuation of the trigger.

10. The delivery device of claim 1, further comprising a plurality of intraluminal devices, each positioned on one of the one or more delivery platforms.

11. The delivery device of claim 10, wherein each of the plurality of intraluminal devices, comprises a frame consisting of a single column of cells extending circumferentially.

12. The delivery device of claim 1, wherein the outer sheath comprises a sheath radiopaque marker near a distal end of the outer sheath.

13. The delivery device of claim 12, the delivery device includes a plurality of intraluminal devices and wherein the sheath radiopaque marker is located a set distance from the distal end of the outer sheath that is half an overall length of each of the intraluminal devices.

14. The delivery device of claim 13, wherein the sheath radiopaque marker is 3 mm from the distal end of the outer sheath.
