1. A bipolar electro surgical device, comprising:

  • a first electrode tip spaced from a second electrode tip, the first electrode tip being connected to a distal end of a first shaft, and the second electrode tip being connected to a distal end of a second shaft, the first electrode tip to serve as a first pole of a bipolar electrode configuration and the second electrode tip to serve as a second pole of the bipolar electrode configuration;

    a first fluid passage in fluid communication with a first fluid outlet opening; and

    a second fluid passage in fluid communication with a second fluid outlet opening,wherein at least a distal portion of the first electrode tip extends distally beyond the distal end of the first shaft, the distal portion of the first electrode tip comprising an exposed, electrically conductive distal end, andwherein at least a distal portion of the second electrode tip extends distally beyond the distal end of the second shaft, the distal portion of the second electrode tip comprising an exposed, electrically conductive distal end, andwherein the first fluid outlet opening is located at the distal end of the first shaft and is defined by the distal end of the first shaft and a proximal portion of the first electrode tip adjacent the distal end of the first shaft, andwherein the second fluid outlet opening is located at the distal end of the second shaft and is defined by the distal end of the second shaft and a proximal portion of the second electrode tip adjacent the distal end of the second shaft; and

    at least one recess is formed in an exterior surface of the distal portion of the first electrode tip, the at least one recess being in fluid communication with the first fluid outlet opening and providing a fluid flow channel for fluid to flow distally along the exterior surface of the distal portion of the first electrode tip, andat least one recess is formed in an exterior surface of the distal portion of the second electrode tip, the at least one recess being in fluid communication with the second fluid outlet opening and providing a fluid flow channel for fluid to flow distally along the exterior surface of the distal portion of the second electrode tip.
