1. An apparatus for assigning a tag to a content item, said apparatus comprising:
- one or more processors; and
one or more memories operatively coupled to at least one of the one or more processors and having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by at least one of the one or more processors, cause at least one of the one or more processors to;
receive an activity log for a content item, the content item being stored within a searchable digital content item environment, said activity log including data indicating one or more search queries that resulted in the content item being located by a search engine and accessed by a user;
determine at least one keyword associated with at least one of the one or more search queries that resulted in the content item being located by a search engine and accessed by a user; and
assign a tag to the content item, wherein the tag is associated with the at least one keyword.

An activity log is received for a document including data indicating search queries resulting in the location of the document by a search engine. One or more keywords are determined from the activity log, and the document is tagged with a tag associated with the keywords.
