1. A method for receiving signal training sequence set information by a remote station, comprising:
- sending signaling to a base station indicating if a new set of a plurality of training sequences is supported, each training sequence of the new set being different than training sequences of a legacy set of a plurality of training sequences; and
receiving a channel description information element from the base station, wherein the channel description information element includes a channel type and a time division multiple access (TDMA) offset field, wherein the channel description information element indicates in the channel type and TDMA offset field whether to use the new set or the legacy set of a plurality of training sequences for a communication channel being established, and wherein the indicated set of a plurality training sequences is different than a set of a plurality of training sequences assigned by the base station to a second remote station that is on the communication channel.

Abstract
The present patent application improves DARP by allowing multiple users on one time slot (MUROS). It comprises means and instructions for signaling training sequence set information to a remote station, comprising receiving signaling from a remote station indicating if a new set of training sequences is supported, and using a channel description to signal the training sequence set to be used by the remote station for a communication channel being established. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

sending signaling to a base station indicating if a new set of a plurality of training sequences is supported, each training sequence of the new set being different than training sequences of a legacy set of a plurality of training sequences; and receiving a channel description information element from the base station, wherein the channel description information element includes a channel type and a time division multiple access (TDMA) offset field, wherein the channel description information element indicates in the channel type and TDMA offset field whether to use the new set or the legacy set of a plurality of training sequences for a communication channel being established, and wherein the indicated set of a plurality training sequences is different than a set of a plurality of training sequences assigned by the base station to a second remote station that is on the communication channel.

a processor; memory in electronic communication with the processor; and instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the processor to; send signaling to a base station indicating if a new set of a plurality of training sequences is supported, each training sequence of the new set being different than training sequences of a legacy set of a plurality of training sequences; and receive a channel description information element from the base station, wherein the channel description information element includes a channel type and a time division multiple access (TDMA) offset field, wherein the channel description information element indicates in the channel type and TDMA offset field whether to use the new set or the legacy set of a plurality of training sequences for a communication channel being established, and wherein the indicated set of a plurality of training sequences is different than a set of a plurality of training sequences assigned by the base station to a second apparatus that is on the communication channel.

code for causing a remote terminal to send signaling to a base station indicating if a new set of a plurality of training sequences is supported, each training sequence of the new set being different than training sequences of a legacy set of a plurality of training sequences; and code for causing the remote terminal to receive a channel description information element from the base station, wherein the channel description information element includes a channel type and a time division multiple access (TDMA) offset field, wherein the channel description information element indicates in the channel type and TDMA offset field whether to use the new set or the legacy set of a plurality of training sequences for a communication channel being established, and wherein the indicated set of a plurality of training sequences is different than a set of a plurality of training sequences assigned by the base station to a second remote terminal that is on the communication channel.

5. A method for wireless communication by a remote station, comprising:

receiving a wanted signal from a first base station; receiving an unwanted signal from a second base station, wherein the wanted signal and the unwanted signal have similar power levels on a single channel; rejecting the unwanted signal using a set of a plurality of training sequences signaled by the first base station, wherein the set of a plurality of training sequences is signaled in a channel description information element that indicates in a channel type and time division multiple access (TDMA) offset field whether to use a new set of a plurality of training sequences or a legacy set of a plurality of training sequences, wherein each training sequence of the new set is different than the training sequences of the legacy set of a plurality of training sequences, and wherein the set of a plurality of training sequences is different than a set of a plurality of training sequences assigned by the first base station to a second remote station that is on the single channel; and demodulating the wanted signal.
