1. A method comprising:

  • receiving a request to deliver content over a network to a client;

    measuring a performance of a first network;

    responsive to the request, transmitting, over the first network, a portion of a first data set to the client, wherein the first data set embodies the requested content;

    measuring a performance of a second network;

    comparing the performance of the first network to the performance of the second network to yield a result of the comparing; and

    responsive to determining that the result of the comparing meets a predetermined condition, ceasing transmission of the first data set, at a first point in the first data set, and transmitting, over the second network, a portion of a second data set to the client, beginning from a point in the second data set corresponding to the first point in the first data set, wherein the second data set embodies the requested content.
