Abstract

An apparatus and method for providing information in conjunction with media content, including a receiver, wherein the receiver receives at least one of a transmission of media content and a broadcast of media content, wherein the media content includes at least one of broadcast media content and entertainment media content, and further wherein the receiver receives information regarding the media content, a processor for processing at least one of the received media content and the received information regarding the media content, a display device for visually displaying the information regarding the media content, and/or a speaker device for audibly announcing the information regarding the media content.

Claims

1. A wearable content player, comprising:

a receiver configured to receive content, to receive information regarding the content together with the content, the information regarding the content comprising a synopsis of transpired events in the content and information regarding at least one of a good and a service;

a processor coupled to the receiver, the processor being configured to process the content and the information regarding the content;

playing device equipment coupled to the processor, the playing device equipment being configured to play the content to a user of the wearable content player;

wherein the wearable content player is configured to provide to the user at least a portion of the information regarding the content received by the receiver, the portion of the information comprising the synopsis of transpired events in the content up to a current moment in the content so as to enable the user to understand story line of the content and enjoy a remaining portion of the content.

2. The wearable content player according to claim 1, further comprising:

a remote control configured to receive commands for input into the wearable content player, the remote control comprising a display device, wherein the wearable content player is configured to provide to the user the portion of the information regarding the content;

wherein the portion of information regarding the content further comprises the information regarding said at least one of the good and the service.

The wearable content player according to claim 1, wherein the information regarding the content is at least one of transmitted as a header file to the content, encoded into at least a portion of the content, and transmitted during at least a portion of a transmission of the content, and the wearable content player is further configured to extract the information regarding the content, and to provide the portion of the information regarding the content during at least a portion of time when the wearable content player provides the content.

4. The wearable content player according to claim 1, wherein said at least portion of the information regarding the content further comprises at least one of a start time of the content, an end time of the content, and a lapsed time of the content.

5. The wearable content player according to claim 1, wherein the receiver comprises a tape reader configured to read the content from a tape.

6. The wearable content player according to claim 1, wherein the receiver comprises an optical storage reader configured to read the content from optical storage.

7. The wearable content player according to claim 1, wherein:

the receiver is configured to receive the content as compressed digital content;

the processor is configured to process the compressed digital content to obtain processed content, and the wearable content player is configured to play the processed content to the user.

8. The wearable content player according to claim 7, wherein the receiver is configured to receive wirelessly the compressed digital content and the information regarding the content.

9. The wearable content player according to claim 7, wherein the receiver is configured to receive wirelessly a broadcast of the content and the information regarding the content.

10. The wearable content player according to claim 7, wherein the receiver is configured to receive wirelessly a broadcast of the content and the information regarding the content, the broadcast being a television or a radio broadcast of the content.

11. The wearable content player according to claim 7, wherein the receiver is configured to receive wirelessly a broadcast of the content and the information regarding the content, the broadcast being a satellite broadcast.

The wearable content player according to claim 1, wherein the receiver is further configured to receive the information regarding the content as at least one of a header file to the content, and data encoded into at least a portion of the content and transmitted during at least a portion of a transmission of the content.

13. The wearable content player according to claim 1, wherein the playing device equipment comprises a display.

14. The wearable content player according to claim 1, wherein the playing device equipment comprises an audio player.

15. A method of providing content, the method comprising steps of:

receiving content by a wearable content player;

receiving information regarding the content together with the content, by the wearable content player, the information regarding the content comprising a synopsis of transpired events in the content;

providing the content received in the step of receiving the content to a user through the wearable content player,

providing at least a portion of the information regarding the content received in the step of receiving information to the user, the portion of the information comprising the synopsis of transpired events in the content up to a current moment in the content so as to enable the user to understand story line of the content and enjoy remaining portion of the content, the step of providing being performed through the wearable content player.

16. The method according to claim 15, wherein said at least portion of the information regarding the content further comprises at least one of a start time of the content, an end time of the content, and a lapsed time of the content.

17. The method according to claim 15, wherein the step of receiving the content comprises reading the content from a tape.

18. The method according to claim 15, wherein the step of receiving the content comprises obtaining the content from optical storage.

19. The method according to claim 15, wherein:

the step of receiving the content comprises receiving the content as compressed digital content; and

the method further comprises processing the compressed digital content using a processor of the wearable content player to obtain processed content, and the step of providing the content comprises playing the processed content to the user.

20. The method according to claim 19, wherein the step of receiving the content as compressed digital content comprises receiving wirelessly the compressed digital content, and wherein the step of receiving the information comprises receiving the information wirelessly.

21. The method according to claim 19, wherein the step of receiving the content comprises receiving wirelessly a broadcast of the content, and the step of receiving the information comprises receiving wirelessly the information regarding the content.

22. The method according to claim 19, wherein the step of receiving the content comprises receiving wirelessly a broadcast of the content, the step of receiving the information comprises receiving wirelessly the information regarding the content, and the broadcast is a radio broadcast, a television broadcast, or a satellite broadcast.
