1. An athletic monitoring system comprising:

  • a transceiver configured to communicate with a first body-worn athletic device configured to be uniquely associated and releasably attached to a corresponding first player during performance of an athletic activity and a second body-worn athletic device, configured to be uniquely associated and releasably attached to a second player during performance of the athletic activity;

    a processor; and

    a non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising computer-executable instructions that when executed by the processor perform at least;

    receive, in real-time during an athletic activity, athletic motion data collected from a sensor of the first athletic device while releasably attached the first player and athletic motion data from a sensor of the second athletic device while releasably attached to the second player;

    process, with the processor, the athletic motion data from the first athletic device to create a first measurement of a first athletic metric for the first player during the athletic activity;

    process, with the processor, the athletic motion data from the second athletic device to create a second measurement of the first athletic metric for the second athlete during the athletic activity;

    deriving, with the processor, during the athletic activity, that the first measurement meets a threshold criteria that the second measurement does not meet;

    determine, with the processor, an identity of the first player that is uniquely associated with the first athletic device; and

    display, on a display unit during performance of the athletic activity, that is viewable to a plurality of individuals, the first measurement of the first athletic metric and the identity of the first player uniquely associated with the first athletic device.
