1. A method, implemented at least in part by one or more computing devices, for presenting a user interface for facilitating user evaluation of past career decisions, the method comprising:

  • presenting at least three stage cards representing different stages in a career history of a user;

    responsive to activation of one of the at least three stage cards, presenting a user interface element for receiving a stage name to be assigned to the activated stage card;

    presenting the stage name with the activated stage card;

    presenting, on a first stage card of the at least three stage cards, a first group of ratings units representing a first ratings category of at least three ratings categories;

    presenting, on the first stage card, a second group of ratings units representing a second ratings category of the at least three ratings categories;

    presenting, on the first stage card, a third group of ratings units representing a third ratings category of the at least three ratings categories;

    presenting, on a second stage card and a third stage card of the at least three stage cards, groups of ratings units representing the first, second and third ratings categories, respectively;

    color-shading individual ratings units on the first, second and third stage cards according to user rating of the career history stages, the color-shading comprising applying the first, second and third ratings categories to the career history stages represented by the first, second and third stage cards, wherein the color-shaded ratings units are color-coded according to ratings category;

    presenting a user interface element for selective viewing that is associated with the first ratings category, wherein activation of the user interface element for selective viewing causes a visual effect involving the color-shaded ratings units corresponding to both the second and third ratings categories in each of the first, second, and third stage cards; and

    responsive to activation of the user interface element for selective viewing, generating the visual effect, wherein the visual effect comprises maintaining, in the first, second, and third stage cards, the color-shading of ratings units corresponding to the first ratings category and removing, from the first, second, and third stage cards, the color-shading of ratings units that do not correspond to the first ratings category.
