1. A heating assembly for one or more rechargeable batteries, the heating assembly comprising:

  • a flexible heating element positionable about the one or more rechargeable batteries and configured to receive power from a charger operable for charging the one or more rechargeable batteries;

    a temperature sensor configured to sense a temperature adjacent the one or more rechargeable batteries, the temperature sensor adjacent the flexible heating element; and

    a control circuit configured to receive the sensed temperature from the temperature sensor and connect the charger to the flexible heating element for allowing power to flow from the charger to the flexible heating element in response to the sensed temperature adjacent the one or more rechargeable batteries falling below a defined threshold temperature;

    wherein the flexible heating element includes a polyimide insulated heater.
