User interface with view finder for localizing anatomical region
First Claim
1. An external control device for use with a medical component implanted within a patient, comprising:
- a user interface configured for displaying a first graphical representation of the medical component in the context of a global graphical representation of an anatomical region of the patient, displaying a view finder spatially defining a portion of the global graphical representation of the anatomical region, and displaying a second graphical representation of the medical component in the context of a local graphical representation of the portion of the anatomical region portion spatially defined by the view finder, wherein the user interface is configured for receiving a user input to modify a position of the view finder or a size of the view finder or both the position and size of the view finder to spatially define a different portion for the global graphical representation; and
control circuitry configured for, in response to the user input, modifying the displayed view finder to spatially define a different portion of the global graphical representation of the anatomical region, automatically displaying the second graphical representation of the medical component in the context of a local graphical representation of the different portion of the anatomical region spatially defined by the view finder.

Abstract
An external control device for use with a medical component implanted within a patient. The device comprises a user interface configured for receiving user input, displaying a first graphical representation of the medical component in the context of a global graphical representation of an anatomical region of the patient, displaying a view finder defining a portion of the global graphical representation, and displaying a second graphical representation of the medical component in the context of a local graphical representation of the portion of the anatomical region portion. The external control device further comprises control circuitry configured for, in response to the input from the user, modifying the displayed view finder to spatially define a different portion of the global graphical representation, such that the second graphical representation of the medical component is displayed in the context of a local graphical representation of the different portion of the anatomical region.

17. An external control device for use with a medical component implanted within a patient, comprising:
-
a user interface configured for displaying a composite graphical representation of an anatomical region of the patient, wherein the composite graphical representation includes; a first graphical representation of a global graphical representation of the anatomical region of the patient and the medical component in the context of the global graphical representation of the anatomical region of the patient, a view finder on the global graphical representation of the anatomical region to spatially define a portion of the global graphical representation of the anatomical region, and a second graphical representation of a local graphical representation of the portion of the anatomical region portion spatially defined by the view finder and the medical component in the context of the local graphical representation of the portion of the anatomical region portion spatially defined by the view finder; the user interface further configured for receiving a user input to modify a position of the view finder or a size of the view finder or both the position and size of the view finder to spatially define a different portion for the global graphical representation; and control circuitry configured for, in response to the user input, modifying the displayed view finder to spatially define a different portion of the global graphical representation of the anatomical region, the control circuitry automatically displaying the second graphical representation of the medical component in the context of a local graphical representation of the different portion of the anatomical region spatially defined by the view finder. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20)
