1. A method for receiving traffic for improving power savings, comprising:
- receiving, at a mobile station, a regular delivery traffic indication message and a slow delivery traffic indication message that is sent at a slower rate than the regular delivery traffic indication message with the regular delivery traffic indication message indicating first broadcast and multicast traffic and the slow delivery traffic indication message indicating second broadcast and multicast traffic; and
receiving the second broadcast and multicast traffic as indicated by the slow delivery traffic indication message, wherein the second broadcast and multicast traffic includes network traffic without application broadcast traffic.

Abstract
A method includes receiving, at a station, a first delivery traffic indication message (DTIM) assigned to a first delivery interval. The first DTIM is configured to indicate whether group-addressed traffic is scheduled for delivery during a beacon interval. The first delivery interval is larger than a second delivery interval associated with a second DTIM. The method further includes receiving the group-addressed traffic during the beacon interval.

15. A non-transitory computer-readable medium including program code that, when executed by a processor, causes the processor to:
-
receive, at a mobile station, a regular delivery traffic indication message and a slow delivery traffic indication message sent at a slower rate than the regular delivery traffic indication message, with the regular delivery traffic indication message indicating first broadcast and multicast traffic and the slow delivery traffic indication message indicating second broadcast and multicast traffic; and receive the second broadcast and multicast traffic as indicated by the slow delivery traffic indication message, wherein the second broadcast and multicast traffic includes network traffic without application broadcast traffic. - View Dependent Claims (16)
