1. An optical coherence photoacoustic microscope comprising:

  • a light source that outputs light of a single center wavelength;

    a scanner that scans the output light of the single center wavelength across a sample by moving at least one of the sample and the light relative to the other of the sample and the light;

    a detector that receives reflected light from the sample in response to the scanned light;

    a transducer positioned to detect photoacoustic waves induced in the sample by the scanned light; and

    an image processing module that receives output from the transducer and the detector and that generates a photoacoustic microscopy (PAM) image and an optical coherence tomography (OCT) image based on the received output.
