1. A non-transitory computer-readable medium embodying a program executable in a computing device, wherein the program, when executed, causes the computing device to:

  • generate a network page in response to a request from a client device;

    define a plurality of view port resolution ranges in the network page;

    configure the network page to specify that a plurality of content items are to be downloaded from a server in association with a rendering of the network page, the content items being associated with a respective one of the view port resolution ranges that includes an initial size of a view port on the client device;

    configure the network page to implement a first transition of a display of the network page after an initial rendering of the network page in response to resizing the view port on the client device within the respective one of the view port resolution ranges, wherein;

    resizing results from a user interaction with the client device by a user of the client device; and

    the first transition employs the content items currently stored in the client device; and

    configure the network page to implement a second transition of the display of the network page after the initial rendering of the network page in response to resizing the view port through a transition threshold defined between a respective pair of the resolution ranges, wherein resizing results from a user interaction with the client device by the user of the client device and the second transition involves downloading at least one additional content item to be displayed in the view port, wherein;
