Abstract

A pesticidal composition comprises one or more of the following compounds: 3-(thiazol-2-yl)pyridine 1-oxide compound of formula I or II, or N-(4-chloro-2-(pyridin-3-yl)thiazol-5-yl)-3-(methylthio)propanamide compound (C3), or any agriculturally acceptable salt thereof, wherein R₁, R₂, R₃, R₄, R₅, R₆, R₇, and Q, are as described herein. A method of controlling pests comprises applying the pesticidal composition near a population of pests.

Claims

1. A pesticidal composition, comprising one or more of the following compounds:

3 (thiazol-2-yl)pyridine 1-oxide compound of formula I or II, or any agriculturally acceptable salt thereof

3. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₁, R₂, and R₄ are H.

4. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₃ is selected from H, F, Cl, Br, or I.

5. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₃ H or F.

6. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₅ is F, Cl, Br, I, or unsubstituted C₁-C₆ alkyl.

7. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₅ is Cl or CH₃.

8. The composition of claim 1, wherein respect to formula (II) Y—

C≡

CR₆ is CH₂C≡

CH or CH(CH₃)C≡

CH.

9. The composition of claim 1, wherein R₇ is (C₁-C₆)alkylS(O)_n(C₁-C₆)alkyl, (C₁-C₆)alkylS(O)_n(C₁-C₆)haloalkyl, or (C₁-C₆)alkylS(O)_n(C₁-C₆)alkyl(C₃-C₆) halocycloalkyl.

10. The composition of claim 1, wherein Q=O.

11. The composition of claim 1, wherein n is 0.

12. The composition of claim 1, wherein n is 1.

13. The composition of claim 1, further comprising:

(a) one or more compounds having acaricidal, algicidal, avicidal, bactericidal, fungicidal, herbicidal, insecticidal, molluscicidal, nematicidal, rodenticidal, or virucidal properties;

or

(b) one or more compounds that are antifeedants, bird repellents, chemosterilants, herbicide safeners, insect attractants, insect repellents, mammal repellents, mating disrupters, plant activators, plant growth regulators, or synergists;

or

(c) both (a) and (b).

14. The composition of claim 1, further comprising one or more compounds selected from:
