1. An in-line mill for processing a pressurized, particulate-laden fluid stream and having improved durability of components including at least the particle reduction chamber, the mill comprising:

  • a) a rotor;

    b) a casing for enclosing the rotor, the casing including a pressurized fluid inlet, a particle reduction chamber, and a fluid outlet;

    c) a shaft and bearing assembly attached to the casing and supporting the rotor;

    d) a drive assembly operatively connected to the shaft for rotating the rotor; and

    e) a stationary, non-rotating plate mounted within the casing, the stationary, non-rotating plate comprising;

    i) an aperture defined in the center thereof for receiving and passing through a portion of a particulate-laden pressurized fluid stream; and

    ii) a plurality of tabs extending radially from the aperture of the stationary, non-rotating plate, the tabs being axially displaced from the aperture at a variety of angles so as to provide multiple angles of redirection for the portion of the particulate-laden fluid stream redirected by the stationary, non-rotating plate,whereby the variety of angles of the tabs increase the variance of dispersion of particulate within the particle reduction chamber.
