- a memory having stored thereon computer executable components; and
a processor configured to execute the following computer executable components stored in the memory;
a presentation component that is to present to a user a first video that is an advertisement, wherein first video is associated with a second video that is not an advertisement; and
an overlay component that is to generate a skip overlay for the first video, the skip overlay containing a thumbnail of the second video, wherein the skip overlay, when displayed over the first video, contains the thumbnail to provide a memory aid to the user about the second video that is associated with the first video, and wherein the skip overlay further displays a countdown indicating to the user when an option to skip the first video, by selecting the skip overlay, will become available and skipping of the first video is inhibited until the option becomes available.

causing a client device to present a first video in response to a request from the client device to present a second video; causing a thumbnail of the second video to be presented as an overlay on the first video after a predetermined portion of the first video has been played; causing a skip user interface element to be presented as an overlay on the first video, wherein the skip user interface element includes a countdown indicating to a user of the client device when the skip user interface element will become selectable to skip the remainder of the first video; inhibiting skipping of the first video until the skip user interface element becomes selectable; receiving an indication that the skip user interface element has been selected at the client device; and in response to receiving the indication that the skip user interface element has been selected, causing the client device to present the second video.
