1. An interactive display, comprising:

  • a polarization-preserving screen disposed to reflect infrared (IR) light;

    a visible-light image displayed on the polarization-preserving screen;

    a polarized IR light source capable of illuminating the polarization-preserving screen with a polarized IR light beam having a first polarization direction;

    a polarization analyzer disposed to intercept a reflected portion of the polarized IR light beam; and

    an IR sensor disposed to detect the reflected portion of the polarized IR light beam that passes through the polarization analyzer,wherein the polarization-preserving screen is a front projection screen and is polarization-preserving for IR light.
