1. A method for deleting at least one unwanted media file from a playlist timeline and from a plurality of media files stored in a computer-readable medium of a portable media device, the method comprising:
- displaying a timeline on a display screen, the timeline depicting a first stored media file and depicting a first start marker and a first end marker corresponding to a period of execution of the first stored media file;
receiving a first input identifying a second stored media file and targeting the second stored media file to a second visual position on the timeline;
displaying on the timeline the second stored media file and a second start marker and a second end marker corresponding to a period of execution of the second stored media file;
executing the first stored media file and the second stored media file according to a temporal relationship as depicted by the first and second start and end markers on the timeline;
receiving a second input targeting the displayed first stored media file for deletion from the timeline;
displaying a message that the targeted first stored media file will be deleted from the timeline;
receiving a second input confirming deletion of the first stored media file from the timeline;
deleting the first stored media file from the timeline;
displaying a message that the targeted first stored media file will be deleted from storage; and
within a predetermined period of time, deleting the targeted first stored media file from storage.

4. A method for creating and displaying a multimedia presentation on a portable media device using a plurality of separate electronic media files, the method comprising:
