- receiving, by a client computing device, a content digest comprising a task list comprising a plurality of selectable tasks, each selectable task comprising reading at least a portion of a respective one of a first plurality of automatically summarized articles, each article of the first plurality corresponding to a respective topic and comprising a plurality of content items, at least two of the plurality of content items included in the article are of different content formats and originate from different content sources;
generating, by the client computing device, a display of the content digest;
receiving, by the client computing device, a first user gesture and a second user gesture; and
altering, by the client computing device, the display in response to the first user gesture and the second user gesture, the altering comprising;
in response to the first user gesture, altering the display from a currently displayed headline to a respective automatically summarized article of the first plurality; and
in response to the second user gesture, altering the display from a currently displayed automatically summarized article of the first plurality to show a different article of the first plurality;
monitoring, by the client computing device, the user'"'"'s progress in completing the plurality of selectable tasks, the completion of a selectable task being recorded in response to the user'"'"'s reading of at least a portion of each of the first plurality of articles; and
displaying, by the client computing device, bonus content upon the completion of the plurality of selectable tasks, the bonus content comprising additional content associated with one or more of the first plurality of automatically summarized articles.

Abstract
Embodiments of the present disclosure may be used to gather, rank, categorize, and perform other processing of various types of content. In some embodiments, content items such as text, images, video, and other content are received from a variety of different sources and are processed to generate an article containing selected content items. While there may be hundreds or thousands of separate articles and stories regarding a particular topic, embodiments of the present disclosure help provide users with a single concise article that contains high-quality content items selected from among a potentially vast number of disparate sources.

receiving, by a client computing device, a periodically updated content digest comprising a cover page and a task list, the task list comprising a plurality of selectable tasks, each of the selectable tasks comprising reading at least a portion of a respective one of a first plurality of automatically summarized articles, each automatically summarized article of the first plurality corresponding to a respective topic and comprising a plurality of content items, at least two of the plurality of content items included in the article are of different content formats and originate from different content sources; generating, by the client computing device an initial display of the content digest wherein the initial display shows to a user, the cover page comprising at least one image and at least one user-selectable headline respectively corresponding to at least one article of the first plurality; receiving, by the client computing device, a first user gesture and a second user gesture; and
