Abstract

In the present invention, image data is edited in response to a demand transmitted from a data-processing apparatus through a network. A moving-picture server (3) acquires a scenario consisting of a plurality of scenes, each lasting for a given time, is acquired in response to a demand made by a personal computer (1-1). The server acquires from a temporary edition space (6) a given number of original data items that will be used in the scenario, also in response to a demand made by the data-processing apparatus. The moving-picture server (3) selects prescribed ones of the original data items acquired and allocate them to the scenes of the scenario acquired. The server corrects the original data items selected, in accordance with the prescribed image data items that have been allocated to the scenes of the scenario. The image data is thereby edited.

Claims

1. An information processing device, comprising:

an interface configured to exchange data over a network with a first user device and with at least one second user device; and

a processing circuit configured to receive, from the first user device, image data and configuration data related to the image data, the configuration data including information indicating whether the image data can be shared with the at least one second user device, and to store, in a memory associated with the information processing device, the image data in association with the configuration data,

wherein the processing circuit is further configured to receive, over the network, the configuration data including the information indicating whether the image data can be shared with the at least one second user device separately from the image data and after the image data is received over the network and stored in the memory, the configuration data having been set by a user of the first user device after the image data was received over the network by the processing circuit; and

the processing circuit is further configured to cause at least a part of the image data and a graphical icon representing the configuration data to be simultaneously displayed.

2. The information processing device of claim 1,

wherein the interface is further configured to receive identification information of a user transmitted from the first user device;

and

the processing circuit is further configured to determine, by retrieving user data from the memory and comparing the retrieved user data with the received identification information, whether the user is registered.

3. The information processing device of claim 2,

wherein the processing circuit is further configured to transmit, to the first user device, all thumbnail images stored in the memory that are owned by the user corresponding to the received identification information, when the processing circuit determines that the user is registered.

4. The information processing device of claim 3,

wherein the processing circuit is further configured to transmit, to the first user device with the thumbnail images, respective type information for each of the thumbnail images, the respective type information indicating whether the corresponding image data is a video or a still image.

5. The information processing device of claim 3,

wherein the processing circuit is further configured to transmit, to the first user device in response to a request from the user, each thumbnail image stored in the memory that has corresponding configuration data stored in the memory indicating that the thumbnail image is shared content.

6. The information processing device of claim 1, wherein the processing circuit is further configured to receive, from the first user device, attribute information related to the image data, the attribute information including at least one of a title, a category, and a comment corresponding to the image data, and to store, in the memory, the attribute information in association with the image data and the configuration data.

7. An information processing method, comprising:

receiving, from a first user device over a network, image data;

causing a display to display simultaneously at least a part of the image data and a graphical icon representing configuration data;

receiving, from the first user device over the network separately from the image data and after receiving the image data, the configuration data, including information indicating whether the image data can be shared with at least one second user device; and

storing, in a memory associated with an information processing device, the image data in association with the configuration data, wherein the step of receiving the configuration data comprises receiving the configuration data after the image data is received over the network and stored in the memory, the configuration data having been set by a user of the first user device after the image data was received over the network.

8. The information processing device of claim 7, further comprising:

receiving identification information of a user transmitted from the first user device; and

determining, by retrieving user data from the memory and comparing the retrieved user data with the received identification information, whether the user is registered.

9. The information processing method of claim 8, further comprising:

transmitting, to the first user device, all thumbnail images stored in the memory that are owned by the user corresponding to the received identification information, when the determining step determines that the user is registered.

10. The information processing device of claim 9, further comprising:

transmitting, to the first user device with the thumbnail images, respective type information for each of the thumbnail images, the respective type information indicating whether the corresponding image data is a video or a still image.

11. The information processing method of claim 9, further comprising:

receiving, from the first user device, a request for shared data;

transmitting, to the first user device in response to the request, each thumbnail image stored in the memory that has corresponding configuration data stored in the memory indicating that the thumbnail image is shared content.

12. The information processing method of claim 7, further comprising:

receiving, from the first user device, attribute information related to the image data, the attribute information including at least one of a title, a category, and a comment corresponding to the image data; and

storing, in the memory, the attribute information in association with the image data and the configuration data.

13. A user device, comprising:

a communication device configured to exchange data over a network with an information processing device; and

a processing circuit configured to transmit, over the network to the information processing device for storage in a memory of the information processing device, image data and configuration data related to the image data, the configuration data including information indicating whether the image data can be shared with another user device,

wherein the processing circuit is further configured to cause at least a part of the image data and a graphical icon representing the configuration data to be simultaneously displayed; and

the processing circuit is further configured to receive a setting for the configuration data after transmitting the image data over the network and transmit the configuration data separately from the image data and after transmitting the image data.

14. The user device of claim 13,

wherein the processing circuit is further configured to cause a log-in screen to be displayed for a user to enter identification information of the user;

and

the communication device is further configured to transmit the identification information of the user to the information processing device, which determines, by retrieving user data from the memory and comparing the retrieved user data with the identification information, whether the user is registered.

15. The user device of claim 14,

wherein the communication device is further configured to receive all thumbnail images stored in the memory of the information processing device that are owned by the user corresponding to the transmitted identification information, when the information processing device determines that the user is registered;

and

the processing circuit is further configured to cause the received thumbnail images to be displayed on a display.

16. The user device of claim 15, wherein the communication device is further configured to receive, from the information processing device together with the thumbnail images, respective type information for each of the thumbnail images, the respective type information indicating whether the corresponding image data is a video or a still image;

and

the processing circuit is further configured to cause to be displayed on the display, for each thumbnail image of the thumbnail images, an icon corresponding to the respective type information of the thumbnail image.

17. The user device of claim 15,

wherein the communication device is further configured to transmit, to the information processing device, a request for shared image data;

the processing circuit is further configured to receive, from the information processing device, each thumbnail image stored in the memory of the information processing device that has corresponding configuration data stored in the memory indicating that the thumbnail image is shared content; and

the processing circuit is further configured to cause the received thumbnail images that correspond to shared content to be displayed on the display.

18. The user device of claim 13, wherein the processing circuit is further configured to cause an attribute-setting screen to be displayed for a user to enter attribute information related to the image data, the attribute information including at least one of a title, a category, and a comment corresponding to the image data;

and

the communication device is further configured to transmit, for storage in the memory of the information processing device in association with the image data and the configuration data, the attribute information entered by the user.

19. A method, comprising:

transmitting, over a network from a user device to an information processing device for storage in a memory of the information processing device, image data;

causing a display to display simultaneously at least a part of the image data and a graphical icon representing configuration data;

receiving a setting for the configuration data after transmitting the image data over the network; and

transmitting, over the network from the user device to the information processing device for storage in the memory of the information processing device, after transmitting the image data over the network, the configuration data, including information indicating whether the image data can be shared with another user device.

20. The method of claim 19, further comprising:

causing a log-in screen to be displayed for a user to enter identification information of the user; and

transmitting the identification information of the user to the information processing device, which determines, by retrieving user data from the memory and comparing the retrieved user data with the identification information, whether the user is registered.

21. The method of claim 20, further comprising:

receiving all thumbnail images stored in the memory of the information processing device that are owned by the user corresponding to the transmitted identification information, when the information processing unit determines that the user is registered; and

causing the received thumbnail images to be displayed on a display.

22. The method of claim 21, further comprising:

receiving, from the information processing device together with the thumbnail images, respective type information for each of the thumbnail images, the respective type information indicating whether the corresponding image data is a video or a still image; and

causing to be displayed on the display, for each thumbnail image of the thumbnail images, an icon corresponding to the respective type information of the thumbnail image.

23. The method of claim 21, further comprising:

transmitting, to the information processing device, a request for shared image data;

receiving, from the information processing device, each thumbnail image stored in the memory of the information processing device that has corresponding configuration data stored in the memory indicating that the thumbnail image is shared content; and

causing the received thumbnail images that correspond to shared content to be displayed on the display.

24. The user device of claim 19, further comprising:

causing an attribute-setting screen to be displayed for a user to enter attribute information related to the image data, the attribute information including at least one of a title, a category, and a comment corresponding to the image data; and

transmitting, for storage in the memory of the information processing device in association with the image data and the configuration data, the attribute information entered by the user.

25. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a program that when executed by a computer, causes the computer to perform a method, comprising:

transmitting, over a network from a user device to an information processing device for storage in a memory of the information processing device, image data;

causing a display to display simultaneously at least a part of the image data and a graphical icon representing configuration data indicating whether the image data can be shared with another user device;

receiving a setting for the configuration data after transmitting the image data over the network; and

transmitting, over the network from the user device to the information processing device for storage in the memory of the information processing device, after transmitting the image data over the network, the configuration data, including information indicating whether the image data can be shared with the another user device.

26. A system, comprising:

an information processing device, including

an interface configured to exchange data over a network with a first user device and with at least one second user device; and

a processing circuit configured to receive, from the first user device, image data and configuration data related to the image data, the configuration data including information indicating whether the image data can be shared with the at least one second user device, and to store, in a memory of the information processing device, the image data in association with the configuration data,

wherein the processing circuit is further configured to receive over the network the configuration data including the information indicating whether the image data can be shared with the at least one second user device separately from the image data and after the image data is received over the network and stored in the memory, the configuration data having been set by a user of the first user device after the image data was received over the network by the processing circuit; and

the processing circuit is further configured to cause at least a part of the image data and a graphical icon representing the configuration data to be simultaneously displayed; and

the first user device, including

a communication device configured to exchange data over the network with the information processing device; and

a controller configured to transmit, to the information processing device for storage in the memory of the information processing device, the image data and the configuration data related to the image data.
