Abstract

Saving power in a mobile terminal includes determining alignment processing moments after the mobile terminal enters a standby mode. Alignable wakeup events, which occur during alignment processing periods corresponding to each alignment processing moment, are thus controlled to commence related processing at each of the alignment processing moments. Power consumption caused by various wakeup events in a standby mode may thus be reduced and battery life of the mobile terminal may thus be improved.

Claims

1. A method for saving power in a mobile terminal, comprising:

determining alignment processing moments after the mobile terminal enters a standby mode; and

controlling alignable wakeup events, which occur during alignment processing periods corresponding to each alignment processing moment, to commence a processing operation related thereto at each of the alignment processing moments.

2. The method as recited in claim 1, further comprising:

determining an unalignable wakeup event as a determined unalignable wakeup event; and

adding the determined unalignable wakeup event to a white list, wherein the unalignable wakeup event is processed contemporaneously when it occurs.

3. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the determining alignment processing moments comprises:

determining a time interval between temporally adjacent alignment processing moments as a determined time interval;

commencing timing of a duration of the determined time interval as soon as the mobile terminal enters the standby mode; and

determining the alignment processing moments based on the determined time interval.

4. The method as recited in claim 3, wherein the alignable wakeup events comprise at least one alarm wakeup event.

5. The method as recited in claim 3, wherein the alignable wakeup events comprise at least one Wake on Wan event.

6. The method as recited in claim 5, further comprising:

determining an occurrence frequency of the Wake on Wan events, and wherein the controlling the alignable wakeup events, which occur during alignment processing periods corresponding to each alignment processing moment to commence the processing operation related thereto at each of the alignment processing moments, is performed when the occurrence frequency of the Wake on Wan events exceeds a preset value.

7. The method as recited in claim 3, wherein the alignable wakeup events comprise:

alarm wakeup events; and

Wake on Wan events, wherein a consecutive pair of the alignment processing moments of the alarm wakeup events are separated by a first time interval and wherein further a consecutive pair of the alignment processing moments of the Wake on Wan events are separated by a second time interval.

8. The method as recited in claim 7, wherein the alignment processing moments of the alarm wakeup events and the corresponding alignment processing moments of the Wake on Wan events coincide.

9. The method as recited in claim 8, wherein the alignment processing moments of the alarm wakeup events comprise the alignment processing moments of the Wake on Wan events.

10. The method as recited in claim 9, further comprising:

determining an occurrence frequency of the Wake on Wan events, wherein the alignment processing moments of the Wake on Wan events comprise the alignment processing moments of the alarm wakeup events upon the determination that the Wake on Wan events occurrence frequency is below a preset value.

11. The method as recited in claim 3, wherein the time interval is user adjustable.

12. The method as recited in claim 3, wherein the time interval comprises a period of between two (2) and four (4) minutes, inclusive.

13. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein the determining alignment processing moments comprises:

counting a number of the alignable wakeup events which occur after the mobile terminal enters the standby mode; and

determining the alignment processing moments based on the counting the number of the alignable wakeup events.

The method as recited in claim 13, wherein the determining the alignment processing moments based on the number of the alignable wakeup events comprises determining an alignment processing moment each time a number of occurrences of the alignable wakeup events, since the mobile terminal enters the standby mode, reaches an integral multiple of a set value.

15. The method as recited in claim 14, wherein the set value is user adjustable.

16. The method as recited in claim 14, wherein the set value comprises at least one of:

a fixed value;

or

a value, that can be adjusted based on an occurrence frequency of the alignable wakeup events.

The method as recited in claim 13, wherein the alignable wakeup events comprise alarm wakeup events and Wake on Wan events, and wherein the determining the alignment processing moments based on the counting the number of the alignable wakeup events comprises counting together the number of the alarm wakeup events and the number of the Wake on Wan events to determine common alignment processing moments.

The method as recited in claim 13, wherein the alignable wakeup events comprise alarm wakeup events and Wake on Wan events, and wherein the number of the alarm wakeup events and the number of the Wake on Wan events are counted separately to determine their respective alignment processing moments.

19. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising instructions, which when executed by a processor of a mobile terminal, cause, control or program the processor to perform a method for saving power in the mobile terminal, the method comprising:

determining alignment processing moments after the mobile terminal enters a standby mode; and

controlling alignable wakeup events, which occur during alignment processing periods corresponding to each alignment processing moment, to commence a processing operation related thereto at each of the alignment processing moments.

20. A mobile communication terminal, comprising:

a processor; and

a non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause, control or program the processor to perform a method for saving power in the mobile terminal, the method comprising;

determining alignment processing moments after the mobile communication terminal enters a standby mode; and

controlling alignable wakeup events, which occur during alignment processing periods corresponding to each alignment processing moment, to commence a processing operation related thereto at each of the alignment processing moments.
