1. An access port system, comprising:
- an implantable access port to be implanted into a subject, said access port including an access port body and an access port needle, said needle contained within said access port body;
wherein said needle is selectively disposable in an extended position and a retracted position;
wherein said needle is coupled to said access port body in said extended position and said retracted position;
wherein, when said needle is in said extended position, said access port is arranged such that a composition is introducible through said needle into a chamber within said access port body;
wherein said needle is configured to be extended from within said access port body and configured to be retracted into said access port body; and
wherein said needle is arranged within said access port body to penetrate outwardly through skin of said subject from within said subject when said access port is implanted in said subject.

30. A method of introducing a composition into a subject, comprising:
-
extending an access port needle through skin of said subject from a retracted position within an access port containing said needle positioned within said subject to an extended position such that said needle penetrates said skin from within the subject and is exposed outside said subject, wherein said access port comprises an access port body and said needle, and wherein said needle is selectively disposable in said extended position and said retracted position, wherein said needle is coupled to said access port body in said extended position and said retracted position, wherein, when said needle is in said extended position, said access port is arranged such that said composition is introducible through said needle into said access port, wherein said needle is configured to be extended from within said access port body and configured to be retracted into said access port body; and introducing a composition into said access port through said needle when said needle is in said extended position, and subsequently into said subject. - View Dependent Claims (31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39)
