1. A braking control system for a vehicle, said braking control system comprising:

  • at least one camera configured to be disposed at a subject vehicle so as to have at least one field of view exterior of the subject vehicle;

    wherein said at least one camera comprises at least a forward viewing camera that is configured to be disposed behind a windshield of the subject vehicle so as to view forwardly through the windshield;

    an image processor operable to process image data captured by said at least one camera;

    a control operable to control a brake system of the subject vehicle;

    wherein, at least in part responsive to processing by said image processor of captured image data, said braking control system determines the presence of another vehicle present in the field of view of said camera;

    wherein, after actuation of the brake system by an automatic emergency braking system of the subject vehicle, said braking control system, at least in part responsive to processing by said image processor of captured image data, determines a relative speed of the subject vehicle relative to the other vehicle, and, responsive at least in part to a speed of the subject vehicle and the determined relative speed, said control controls the brake system of the subject vehicle;

    wherein, while said control is controlling the brake system of the subject vehicle, and responsive to at least one of (i) a collision having occurred, (ii) the speed of the subject vehicle being greater than a threshold speed and (iii) the determined relative speed being greater than a threshold value, said braking control system determines if the driver of the subject vehicle is impaired;

    wherein said braking control system determines if the driver of the subject vehicle is impaired at least in part responsive to one of (i) a cabin monitoring system of the subject vehicle, (ii) an airbag system of the subject vehicle and (iii) a driving characteristic of the driver of the subject vehicle; and

    wherein, responsive to a determination that the driver of the subject vehicle is impaired, said braking control system does not allow the driver to override said control'"'"'s control of the brake system of the subject vehicle, and wherein, responsive to a determination that the driver of the subject vehicle is not impaired, said braking control system allows the driver to override said control'"'"'s control of the brake system of the subject vehicle.
