1. A method for determining a congenital cardiac anomaly in an infant, the method comprising:
- using a pulse oximeter to determine a first oxygen saturation measurement from a first tissue site on a first limb of a patient;
using the pulse oximeter to determine a second oxygen saturation measurement from at least one additional tissue site on a second limb of the patient;
automatically comparing said first oxygen saturation measurement to said second oxygen saturation measurement to determine the presence of a congenital cardiac anomaly of an infant, wherein said comparing computes a difference between said first oxygen saturation measurement and said second oxygen saturation measurement; and
determining and displaying an indication of the congenital cardiac anomaly on a display device of the pulse oximeter.

Abstract
A patient monitor has multiple sensors adapted to attach to tissue sites of a living subject. The sensors generate sensor signals that are responsive to at least two wavelengths of optical radiation after attenuation by pulsatile blood within the tissue sites.

8. A physiological monitor comprising:
-
interface componentry in communication with at least two sensors adapted to be positioned on tissue sites of a patient, said interface componentry having at least two outputs corresponding to signals received from said sensors and responsive to light transmitted through said tissue sites; and at least one signal processor in communication with said interface componentry outputs, said at least one signal processor configured to; receive a first output, from said interface componentry, associated with a first tissue site on a first limb of the patient; receive a second output, from said interface componentry, associated with a second tissue site on a second limb of the patient; determine at least one first oxygen saturation measurement from said first tissue site and at least one second oxygen saturation measurement from said second tissue site in response to said first output and said second output; and compare said at least one first oxygen saturation measurement with said at least one second oxygen saturation measurement to determine the presence of a congenital cardiac anomaly of an infant and display an indication of the congenital cardiac anomaly. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15)
