1. An electronic device for providing a selective forwarding of an incoming call, comprising:

  • a receiver configured to receive an input communication signal from a calling party;

    a controller, in communication with the receiver, configured to read at least a portion of the data output from the receiver,wherein the controller detects an identification of the incoming call from the calling party, and in response to detecting the identification of the incoming call, assigns priority based on a predefined scheme, wherein a higher priority call is notified to a user, and a lower priority call is forwarded to voice mail without notifying the user of a receipt of the incoming call, regardless of a time of receipt of the incoming call during the selective forwarding.
