1. A method for generating a signal, the method comprising:
- detecting a varying impedance value of a user in contact with a device relative to a ground;
adjusting the signal based on the varying impedance value; and
causing the signal to be coupled to the user such that, as the signal is adjusted, the signal is adapted to generate substantially the same tactile sensation in at least one digit that slides on an insulation surface of the device.

27. An apparatus for generating an AC (alternating current) signal, the apparatus comprising:

an insulation surface; a sensor configured to detect an impedance value of a user in contact with the apparatus relative to a ground; and a controller configured to; generate the AC signal based on the impedance value, wherein the AC signal includes a DC (direct current) offset, and cause the AC signal to be coupled to the user such that the signal is adapted to generate a tactile sensation in at least one digit that slides on the insulation surface, wherein the AC signal passes through an amplifier that maintains the DC offset of the AC signal, wherein the controller is configured to, in response to detecting a change in the impedance value, modify the AC signal that is coupled to the user such the signal is adapted to generate substantially the same tactile sensation as the impedance value changes.
