- a rack comprising a plurality of first cage mount assemblies and plurality of second cage mount assemblies;
a plurality of detectors;
anda plurality of cages, wherein;
one of the detectors is attached to each of the first cage mount assemblies and another one of the detectors is attached to each of the second cage mount assemblies;
each of the cages comprises a first cage component;
each first cage component comprises a first detectable identifier;
each of the cages is engaged with and contacts one of the first cage mount assemblies and one of the second cage mount assemblies; and
the one of the detectors attached to one of the first cage mount assemblies with which one of the cages is engaged and contacts, or the one of the detectors attached to one of the second cage mount assemblies with which one of the cages is engaged and contacts is configured to detect the first detectable identifier of the first cage component of the one of the cages.
