1. A method, comprising:
- displaying, by a microprocessor on first and second displays of a multi-display wireless communication device, a multi-thread view of a messaging application comprising a plurality of messages of different types and from different sources received by the communication device over a selected time period, wherein the different types of messages comprise a plurality of e-mail, voice mail, instant messaging, multimedia messaging service, and text chat;
receiving, by the microprocessor and from a user, a selection of a displayed message from among the plurality of messages, wherein the user selection is by at least one of;
(i) user rotation of the communication device from portrait mode to landscape mode, thereby causing selection of the displayed message and (ii) a user gesture received by an off screen gesture capture region located on the communication device; and
in response, displaying, by the first and/or second displays in a single thread view and as output of the messaging application, a plurality of messages sent by the user to the source and from the source to the user.

8. A communication device, comprising:
-
a microprocessor; a screen to display information to a user, the screen comprising first and second displays; a cellular telephony module; a wireless communication module; and a tangible and non-transient computer readable medium comprising microprocessor executable instructions that cause the microprocessor to; display, on the screen, a multi-thread view of a messaging application comprising a plurality of messages of different types and from different sources received by the communication device over a selected time period; receive, from a user, a selection of a displayed message from among the plurality of messages, wherein the user selection is by at least one of;
(i) user rotation of the communication device from portrait mode to landscape mode, thereby causing selection of the displayed message and (ii) a user gesture received by an off screen gesture capture region located on the communication device; andin response, display, by the first and/or second displays in a single thread view and as output of the messaging application, a plurality of messages sent by the user to the source and from the source to the user. - View Dependent Claims (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14)

15. A tangible and non-transient computer readable medium comprising microprocessor executable instructions that, when executed by the microprocessor, cause the microprocessor to perform the following steps:
-
display on first and second displays of a multi-display wireless communication device, a multi-thread view of a messaging application comprising a plurality of messages of different types and from different sources received by the communication device over a selected time period; from a user, a selection of a displayed Message from among the plurality of messages, wherein the user selection is by at least one of;
(i) user rotation of the communication device from portrait mode to landscape mode, thereby causing selection of the displayed message and (ii) a user gesture received by an off screen gesture capture region located on the communication device; andin response, display, by the first and/or second displays in a single thread view and as output of the messaging application, a plurality of messages sent by the user to the source and from the source to the user. - View Dependent Claims (16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21)

22. A method, comprising:
-
providing a wireless communication device having first and second displays, the wireless communication device comprising in memory a messaging application, the messaging application outputting a multi-thread view of messages to and from a user of the wireless communication device;
wherein in a first state of the wireless communication device, the messaging application is not maximized and outputs only the multi-thread view; andreceiving, by the wireless communication device, user input to maximize the messaging application, wherein maximizing the messaging application from the multi-thread view causes display of the multi-thread view on the first display and of the single thread view on the second display, the single thread view comprising a plurality of messages sent by the user to the source and from the source to the user and being generated automatically from a user in focus message in the multi-thread view. - View Dependent Claims (23, 24, 25, 26)
