1. A device comprising:

  • a memory;

    circuitry coupled with the memory to;

    receive, via a beacon frame, a restricted access window (RAW) parameter set (RPS) information element (IE) to determine a station-to-slot mapping function and a traffic indication map bitmap;

    determine a number of slots in the RAW (Nraw) based on the RPS IE;

    determine, based upon the mapping function, an association between a station and a slot in the restricted access window based upon a position of the station in the traffic indication map bitmap, wherein the mapping function comprises a position (x) of the station in a traffic indication bitmap, wherein x is a position index of an association identifier (AID) of the device if the RAW is restricted to stations whose AID bits in the TIM bitmap are set to 1;

    wherein, if the RAW is not restricted to stations whose AID bits in the TIM bitmap are set to 1, x is the AID of the device; and

    contend for access to an access point in the slot of the RAW.
