1. A blood glucose meter comprising:

  • a cartridge, the cartridge having an aperture configured to receive a body part of a user; and

    a testing member for eliciting blood samples, the testing member configured to be rotatably mounted inside the cartridge, the testing member comprising;

    a lancet for lancing a body part of a user, the lancet protruding from an edge of the testing member;

    a second blood collection part;

    second contact pads, the second contact pads being electrically connected to the second blood collection part, the second blood collection part and second contact pads together being configured to facilitate an analysis of the quantity of blood in a first blood sample in the second blood collection part;

    a blood analysis part; and

    first contact pads, the first contact pads being electrically connected to the blood analysis part, the blood analysis part and first contact pads together being configured to facilitate an analysis of a second blood sample in the blood analysis part;

    the blood glucose meter further comprising a processor and a motor;

    wherein the processor causes the testing member to be rotated by the motor such that the blood analysis part and the second blood collection part are able to be presented at an aperture in the cartridge in turn and wherein the processor determines when the amount of blood absorbed into the second blood collection part exceeds a predetermined threshold level and causes the motor to rotate the testing member from the second blood collection part to the blood analysis part only when it is determined that the threshold level is exceeded.
