1. An end effector assembly for use with a forceps, the end effector assembly comprising:

  • a pair of jaws, at least one of the jaws being a moveable jaw moveable relative to the other one of the jaws about a pivot between an open position and a closed position for grasping tissue, at least one of the jaws including a control trough defined therein that extends therealong, the pivot having a first pivot boss and a second pivot boss defining a pivot hole therebetween, at least one of the jaws including a jaw clevis;

    a cutting assembly including a blade and blade control portion, the cutting assembly defining a longitudinal axis through the blade and the blade control portion, the blade control portion being configured for slidable translation through the pivot hole defined between the first pivot boss and the second pivot boss to allow selective advancement of the blade through the control trough, the blade disposed distally relative to the pivot and extending farther from the longitudinal axis of the cutting assembly than an outer surface of the blade control portion; and

    at least one cam assembly including a jaw actuator, the at least one cam assembly operably coupled to the at least one moveable jaw and actuatable to move the at least one moveable jaw between the open and the closed position for grasping tissue therebetween,wherein the jaw actuator is coupled to the at least one jaw clevis via a link, the jaw clevis and the link configured to move the at least one moveable jaw between the open and closed position.
