1. A method of treating a condition selected from the group consisting of:

  • a movement disorder or improvement of movement function, wherein the method comprises;

    sensing neuronal electrical activity from a sensor placed in intralaminar nuclei of a patient;

    delivering, in response to the sensing, a first stimulus to a first target site that is the intralaminar nuclei of the patient; and

    delivering a second stimulus to a second target site selected from the group consisting of a globus pallidus interna, lateral thalamus, substantia nigra, pedunculopontine nuclei, premotor cortex, motor cortex, and sensory cortex, wherein the condition being treated is a movement disorder or improvement of movement function affected by the movement disorder.
